Framed Art "Ride the Wave, Whatever Dude" In Memory of Colin Kirsch Roberts

This piece is more than just art—it’s a tribute woven from love, memory, and the deep impact of a friend who left his mark on every heart he touched.

“Ride the Wave” was created in honor of my dear friend Colin—a free spirit, a true hippie at heart, and someone who showed us all how to embrace life’s highs and lows with grace and humor. The design features Colin’s actual handwriting—the words “Whatever, dude” that he made iconic in our friend group, a simple phrase that, after his passing, became a symbol of his laid-back, unshakeable spirit.

The ship in this artwork was drawn by Colin himself—one of many little pieces of his creativity that I’ve been lucky enough to hold onto. I designed the boho-inspired wave and earthy background around it to reflect the beautiful, wild ride of life he embraced and the ways we can all learn to ride the waves that come our way.

This framed art was made especially with Colin’s family and close friends in mind, but it’s also a reminder for anyone who needs it:
